Late Shri Hashu Advani, an intellectual educationist who believed in inculcating high moral values in the younger generation, established Vivekanand Education Society (VES) in 1964. With 22 well-established institutions in its fold, it provides a gamut of academic programmes from pre-primary to the professional level.

 With a mission to provide excellence in professional management education, Institute of Management Studies and Research was established in 1994. Approved by AICTE, it offers a two-year full-time postgraduate course leading to the MMS (Master of Management Studies) degree of the University of Mumbai.

 The Institute provides lecture halls well equipped with modern audio-visual aids, Library well stocked with books, journals and periodicals and well-equipped Computer Lab with latest software and hardware together with Internet facility.

 The Institute provides an environment where faculties constantly engage themselves in creating innovative teaching methodologies, involving the students in real life work environment and encouraging them to develop their potential to face the business challenges lying ahead.

 The Institute is also contemplating starting part-time diploma courses in the evening for working executives and short period certificate courses for executives in SSIs, Foreign Exchange Risk Management and Treasury Management, Communication and presentation Skills, Negotiating Skills and Leadership Qualities. A special course is being designed for Banking and Insurance Sector.

LIBRARY

The library is having a large collection of books and journals.  Most of the functions and services of the library are automated. It has separate collection of Audio – Visual materials (audio cassettes, video cassettes and CDs) and dissertations. Library has a treasure of works on Vedanta and philosophy.

Timings ---- 9:00 A.M. to 8:30 P.M (Monday to Saturday)

MMS students are permitted to borrow 2 books at a time for a period of 7days and 1 journal (back Issue) for Overnight studies.

Overdue Books and Fines

There is fine of Rs/-3 per day per book and Rs 5/- for overdue Journals.

Computer Lab

There are two modern computer labs with 60 computers well equipped with latest software and hardware and 24 hrs Internet access.

Lecture Halls

Spacious lecture halls equipped with LCD players and OHP’s. Lockers are provided for every student.

Auditorium

The institute has a state of the art auditorium with 120 person seating capacity. It provides the right ambience and platform for holding seminars, workshops and conferences.

Sports

All sports equipments are available for indoor and outdoor games. Institute encourages participation in the intercollegiate sports events.

Canteen

The canteen facility is available from 9.00 a.m to 6.00 p.m.

Hostel

Hostel facilities are available for 20 students.
